LAKELAND SOCCER SIGN MIDFIELD DUO
May 30, 2003
Lakeland College Head Men's Soccer Coach Marc Colwell announced that Mike Gorack
from Algonquin, Illinois and Trey Summers from Franklin, Wisconsin will play
soccer, at Lakeland College, in the upcoming 2003 soccer season.
Gorack, an outside midfielder, was a member of the Jacobs High School team that won their conference for the past 3 years and narrowly lost 2-1 to, Wisconsin State Champs, Milwaukee Marquette. Gorack was the team MVP his senior season, registering 11 points on 3 goals and 5 assists. Gorack was also a member of the Chicago Alliance club soccer team.
"Mike is a talented midfielder who has the ability to play on either the right or left side. His speed and ability to take on defenders is what makes him most dangerous, but he also is a very good distributor of the ball," said Colwell.
Summers, a central midfielder, was a four-year starter and two-year team captain while at Franklin High School. He was also Franklin's leading point getter during the 2001 & 2002 seasons. Summers was a member of the Wisconsin ODP pool and will compete with the Croatian Eagles Majors over the summer.
"Trey is a skillful midfielder who is very creative going forward. We feel he will be a good addition to our solid midfield core," said Colwell.
