Women's Basketball Falls In First Round Tournament

The Lakeland College Women's Basketball Team concluded an outstanding
season by dropping a 58-42 decision to host Carleton College Wednesday
night in Northfield, Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Muskies finished 22-6 overall while the Knights improved to 25-3 and
advanced to second round play verses Buena Vista College in Iowa this

Men's And Women's Basketball Teams Hit The Road For NCAA Tournament
Feb. 29, 2004
The Lakeland mens and womens basketball teams will hit the
road this week to open play in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Lakeland women (22-5) get things started Wednesday night when they
travel to Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., just south of St. Paul.
The Lakeland men (16-12) get a short trip to Appleton Thursday night
to meet Lawrence University (21-4).
Times for both games will be at 7pm.
If either Lakeland team would win, they would advance to the second round
and a game against Buena Vista in Storm Lake, Iowa, on Saturday. Storm
Lake is in northwestern Iowa.Full

Women's Basketball Cruises To NCAA Bid; Throttle

The Lakeland College Women's Basketball
Team earned the program's fourth NCAA Tournament bid with an easy 69-43
victory over visiting Edgewood College Saturday afternoon in Sheboygan in
the championship game of the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament. The Muskies

the conference this season, going 12-0 in the LMC (currently 21-5 overall)
with an average margin of victory at 21 points. Their regular season title

the first time since they did it in the 1998-1999 season. They stayed

Tonight
the Lakeland College Women's Basketball team hosted the Marian College
Sabres for Senior Night in the Todd Wehr Center. It was the final regular
season home game of the year for the Muskies as they looked to stay undefeated
in conference. The Muskies were successful in their efforts as they topped
the Sabres by a score of 67-50.

Women's Basketball Clinches Share Of LMC Title

The Lakeland College women's basketball team clinched a share of the Lake
Michigan Conference regular season title tonight. The Muskies (16-5, 8-0
LMC) did not even play tonight, but wins by Edgewood and Marian over Wisconsin
Lutheran and Concordia gave the rest of the league a minimum of four losses.
With only four games remaining on Lakeland's conference schedule, this
guarantees them a share of the title. This makes the Muskies Lake Michigan
Conference champions for the sixth time in seven years.

In two conference wins last week versus Wisconsin Lutheran and Marian,
Steinert shot over 56% from the floor (13-23), and 84% from the free-throw
line (11-13). She led the Muskies (11-5, 4-0 LMC) in scoring both nights
with 14 and 23, respectively. At Marian, she added 15 rebounds to go with
her 23 points to record her third double-double of the season. Her averages
for the week were 18.5 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, and 1.5 bpg.
