Feb. 7, 2004

It wasn’t pretty, but the Lakeland College Women’s Basketball team (17-5, 9-0) still came out on top with a 57-47 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran (10-11, 4-5) on Saturday.

Aubri Rote led all scorers with 15 points, while Renee Steinert and Jenna Boehm controlled the paint with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

For the Warriors, Kami Ten Pas scored 13 points and Sarah Metzger dropped 10 in the losing effort.

The Muskies controlled the Warriors defensively, limiting Wisconsin Lutheran to just 28% shooting.

With the win, Lakeland clinched the Lake Michigan Conference regular season title. The title is coach April Arvan’s seventh in ten years with the program.

Lakeland will look to extend their conference unbeaten streak when they host Marian College on Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m.
