Muskie Women Oust Concordia With Ease
Feb. 21, 2004
With the Muskie faithful in full force in the stands, the Lakeland College Women's Basketball Team advanced to the Lake Michigan Conference Championship game with a wire-to-wire 75-53 victory over the Concordia Falcons.

Aubri Rote scored a team-high 22 points for Lakeland, while Renee Steinert and Casey Thousand both scored in double-digits with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

For the Falcons, JQ Stewart had a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds. Leah Buyarski also added 13 points and seven boards in the losing effort.

The Muskies jumped out on top early, holding the Falcons to just seven points in the first 13 minutes of the game. Lakeland led 34-22 at the half, but the pesky Falcons hung around for much of the second half. However, the Muskies were simply too strong for Concordia to keep up with.

The win moves the Muskies (21-5) into the championship game, where they will host Edgewood on Saturday, February 28 at 2 p.m. The loss ends the season for the Falcons (10-17).
