Lakeland Women's Basketball Outlasts Beloit
Nov. 25, 2003

The Muskies Women's Basketball Team had their fair share of troubles Saturday night against UW-Oshkosh, but those troubles didn't seem to faze them in their following game, a 76-68 victory over Beloit on Tuesday, November 25.
Lakeland jumped out of the gates quickly, leading 17-5 midway through the first half, but then were held scoreless for six minutes until the Buccaneers tied it at 17.

Led by Aubri Rote's 24 points, the Muskies were able to pull away from the Buccaneers in the second half after a 27-27 tie at halftime.

Aside from the outstanding performance of Rote, the Muskies got stellar games out of Renee Steinert, who had 17 points, and Karli Nichols, who had 13. Senior guard Casey Thousand and sophomore forward Beth Porter matched each other with 8 points and 6 rebounds.

The women's next game will be against Buena Vista University (IA) at the UW-Eau Claire "Thanksgiving Showcase" Tournament on Friday, November 28. The Muskies will also play on Saturday in the championship or the consolation game.
