Women's Basketball Crushes Dominican

The Lakeland College women's basketball team was unstoppable on their way to an absolutely dominating 72-37 victory over Dominican University Tuesday night.

Aubri Rote continued to lead the way for the Muskies as she has all season with 17 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes while Casey thousand chipped in with 12 points of her own.

The Muskies controlled the boards on both sides of the ball, out-rebounding the Stars 39-21, led by sophomore forward Beth Porter, who had a team-high eight rebounds, and Renee Steinert, who grabbed six boards for the Muskies.

Lakeland jumped out to a 33-16 halftime lead behind 46.4% shooting and pulled away in the second half, shooting 50% from the field. The was more than enough to defeat the Stars, who shot an ice cold 28.8% for the game.

The Muskies will open conference play when they host Concordia University on Thursday, December 4. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
