Muskies Cruise Past Crusaders in 4-1 Victory In Women's

Watertown, WI - The Lady Muskies Soccer Team cruised to a 4-1 victory against
Maranatha Baptist Bible College today improving to 4-9 overall and evening their
Lake Michigan Conference record at 1-1.
Lakeland set the tone early when senior midfielder Meghan Wudtke (Elk Grove Village, Illinois) hammered home a pass from Amanda Smith (Neenah) in the 3rd minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Smith added a goal of her own off an Amy Freier (Sheboygan) assist to give Lakeland a tenuous 2-0 half-time lead.
The start of the second half belonged to Maranatha as they stepped up their pressure on the Muskies. They would be rewarded for their hard work with a rebound goal by Stephanie Ujvary in the 54th minute.
The Muskies came out of their funk after the goal and began to take over the game. Amanda Smith scored again in the 63rd minute off an assist from her little sister, Nicki Smith. Amanda Smith would complete the hat trick in the 74th minute off an Allyce Maus (Green Bay) pass to finish the scoring and preserve a 4-1 win.
Freshman goalkeeper Alli Weiss (New Berlin) was solid in goal, tallying 7 saves on the day.
Lakeland will be back in action on Thursday, October 16th at home against conference opponent Milwaukee School of Engineering at 3:00 p.m.
