Women's Soccer Defeats MSOE In LMC Match
October 16, 2003
Sheboygan, WI - The Lady Muskies trounced the Red Raiders of Milwaukee School
of Engineering by a score of 11-0 in a very lopsided Lake Michigan Conference
affair. The win puts the Muskies at 2-1 in LMC play and 5-9 overall.
Lakeland was led by junior forward Amanda Smith (Neenah, WI) who tallied 13 points with 4 goals and five assists. Following in Smith's footsteps was senior striker Amy Freier (Sheboygan, WI) who fired up a hat trick on the day.
The Muskies found the goal early and often as Smith's first goal came just five minutes into the match. The score at the half was 5-0 in favor of Lakeland College. Lorine Weiss a freshman out of Kenosha, WI tallied her first collegiate point on an assist on Smith's 3rd goal.
In the second half Meghan Wudtke (Elk Grove Village, IL) scored a pair of goals to coincide with fellow senior Amy Herzfeldt (Appleton, WI) and sophomore Nicki Smith (Neenah, WI) who both added goals on the day.
The Muskie defenders: senior Michelle Schleh (New Holstein, WI), sophomore Briana Plautz (Green Bay, WI), freshman Allyce Maus (Green Bay, WI) and senior Lindsay Olm (Sheboygan, WI), held the Red Raiders to just 2 shots. This made for an easy day Muskie keeper Alli Weiss (New Berlin, WI) who was required to make only 1 save on the day.
Lakeland's next game is on Saturday at 12:30 when they travel to Concordia University of Mequon in another LMC showdown.
