Muskie Women's Soccer Blanked By Green Knights Of St. Norbert's

De Pere, WI- The Lakeland College Women's Soccer team was unable to crack a solid Green Knight defense as they dropped a fierce non-conference match 2-0.

The Green Knights opened the scoring in the 19th minute as Sara Gross scored an unassisted goal that was just beyond the reach of freshman goal keeper Allie Weiss (New Berlin, WI). Weiss would finish the day with 5 saves. Gross would add her second goal of the match in the 29th minute off of a great ball served up by Nikki Garrity. The two goal spread would eventually be all the Knight's needed.

In the second half a solid Muskie back line lead by sophomore defender and captain Briana Plautz (Green Bay, WI), senior Michelle Schleh (New Holstein, WI) and freshman Allyce Maus (Green Bay, WI) gave the Knights no opportunities and the score remained 2-0.

A battered and bruised Muskie squad will spend the week preparing for their non-conference matches this weekend (9/27 & 9/28) against St. Catherine's (MN) and UW-Platteville respectively. The Muskies are looking to improve on their now 1-6 record.
