Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight Match

The Muskies women's tennis team defeated Mount Mary College on Thursday, September 18th in Milwaukee. The 5-4 victory was the third straight win for the Muskies. Lakeland improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Lake Michigan Conference, while Mount Mary dropped to 0-5 overall.

Lakeland's Hanaka Murakami continues to roll as she remains undefeated at 4-0. Murakami had no trouble at number one singles, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Lisa Hentges was the only other singles winner. Hentges won number three singles 6-2, 6-1.

The Muskies swept all three doubles matches. Number one doubles Murakami and Heidi Heling rolled 8-1. Hentges and Sarah Wall held on 8-6 to win number two doubles. Andrea Schuchart and Meggan Saak completed the sweep by winning the number three doubles match 8-4.

Lakeland tries for their fourth straight win against MSOE this Saturday, September 20th at home.
