Women's Tennis Tiptoes Past Edgewood

The Lakeland College Women's Tennis Team defeated the Edgewood Eagles at home
on Wednesday afternoon by the score of 5-4. With the victory the Muskies maintained
their perfect record in the LMC at 4-0, good for a first place tie with Wisconsin
Lutheran. Edgewood fell to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the LMC.
Lakeland's number one and two singles Hanaka Murakami and Cody Carlson both won and both remained undefeated this season. Murakami walked 6-0, 6-3 and Carlson battled for a 6-3, 7-5 win. Heidi Heling won her number three singles match 6-2, 6-1.
Murakami/Carlson won their number one doubles match 8-6, keeping their record as undefeated doubles partners intact as well. Heling and Hentges sealed the victory at number two doubles with an 8-4 victory.
Lakeland's next match on September 27th will be an important conference showdown when the Muskies battle the unbeaten Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran on the road.
