Braaksma Earns Kregal Academic Award

Melissa Braaksma, a senior from Randolph, WI (Randolph HS) was named the Ellen Kregal Academic Award winner for the 2003-04' academic year.

The award goes to an upper class student-athlete who has a high overall grade point average, shows good team representation, and has made contributions to the campus community.

Braaksma currently has a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She completed her volleyball career this year leading the team to its second straight NCAA tournament appearance and third straight conference championship. Braaksma was a two year captain, an all-conference performer, and more importantly became the program's first Academic All-American…receiving 2nd team honors in 2002 and 1st team honors in 2003.

On campus, Braaksma was the president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of Future Corporate Leaders, President of Mortar Board, and was named as a Who's Who among American College Students.
