NCAA Division III Volleyball Committee Announces 2003

INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Committee announced
today the field of 48 teams for the 2003 Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.
Thirty-six conferences received automatic bids. Seven teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. Five berths were reserved for Pool C, which are institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not conference champions.
The following teams earned at-large bids: California State University, Hayward, Colorado College, Emory University, Frostburg State University, Maryville College (Tennessee), New York University, Skidmore College, Thomas More College, University of Wisconsin, River Falls, University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, Central College (Iowa), and Vassar College.
The first round of the championship will be played November 13-15 and the quarterfinals begin November 22. The finals are scheduled for December 5-6.
The following teams will host regional competition: Juniata College, New York University, Springfield College, Washington University (Missouri), University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, Wittenberg University, University of La Verne, Trinity University (Texas).
