Lakeland Finishes 4th At Lawrence University Invitational

The Lakeland College Wrestling Team placed 4th at the Lawrence Invite in Appleton, WI on Saturday.

Lakeland's Tim Vallier was Co-Most Valuable Wrestlers with Shamar Bailey from Maranatha. Vallier recorded the most pins in the least amount of time for the tournament. In the 174 pound class Vallier fell to Bailey from Maranatha in the finals, and Vallier finished 2nd with a 2-1 record.

Other Muskie Wrestlers included Sonny Martinez, who took 3rd at 157 pounds with a 3-1 record, while Trevor Berndt placed 2nd at 165 pounds with a 2-1 record. Berndt lost to Mike Jackowski from UW-Platteville in the finals.

Muskie grappler Lee Sparks finished 2-1 on his way to 3rd place at 184 pounds and Mark VandendHoogen battled to a 4th place finish with a 2-2 record at 285.

Scott Toledo went 1-2 in the 133 pound class and Noe DeLeon finished 1-2 at 141 pounds for Lakeland. Ryan Rivera finished out the day with an 0-2 mark at 197.
