Daniel David Black
Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities
Daniel David Black, who joined Lakeland in 2014, earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from the University of Arizona. Previously, he completed his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Houghton College in New York and Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Studies from Northwestern University.
Prior to joining Lakeland's faculty, Black was a graduate co-conductor at the University of Arizona, assistant conductor for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus and assistant conductor for the Tucson Chamber Artists.
Black's primary interests are in bringing together choral and orchestral musicians at every level, educating audiences through innovative programming and in building foundational choral skills through instruction in vocal technique and literacy. He has conducted musicians from the high school level up through professionals.
