Applying For Financial Aid
Evening & Online Program
In order to ensure completion of financial aid award and disbursement of aid in a timely manner, we recommend that all paperwork be completed at least six weeks prior to the start of classes for each term
For maximum consideration of financial aid, the following steps are required:
Be Prepared
- Complete your taxes. You (and/or your parents) will need to do this; it is best to fill out the FASFA using your completed taxes.
- Apply for a PIN. You and your parents should apply for a Personal identification number (PIN) online to serve as your electronic signatures on your FAFSA application.
- FAFSA On The Web Worksheet. Use the FAFSA on the web Pre-Application Worksheet to assist you and your parents in collecting information for questions asked on the online FAFSA.
Complete your FAFSA
There are two ways to complete your FAFSA:
On the web at: www.fafsa.ed.gov – processing time 2-3 weeks
- We encourage you to use complete your FAFSA on the web.

- Be sure you and your parents sign your FAFSA
- Print a copy of your completed FAFSA for your records
With a paper version – processing time 6-8 weeks
- You can obtain a paper FAFSA from our Financial Aid Office

- Be sure you and your parents sign your FAFSA
- Make a copy of your completed FAFSA for your records
- Mail your FAFSA to the Department of Education in the enclosed envelope.
Other criteria:
- If you receive employee reimbursement, you must complete the Reimbursement Confirmation form EACH term.
- Each new student must complete a Credit
Agreement.
- A student must maintain good academic standing in order to retain the awarded financial aid.
- A student cannot be in default on any federal educational loan.
- A student must have completed an Entrance Counseling form, if he/she is a first time borrower Click Here To Complete Form.
The last day the federal government will process 2008-2009 FAFSAs is
6/30/2009.
Follow up
- Once the Department of Education receives and processes your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). This is a record of your FAFSA, review it for accuracy.
- The SAR will show your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) calculated by the information you provided on your FAFSA. The EFC is the amount determined by the Dept. of Education that your family is expected to contribute to your education for the upcoming year.
- During the application process, you may be asked to verify the information reported on the FAFSA. We will request the appropriate documentation from you, if necessary.
- If you have special circumstances, you may submit them in writing to the Financial Aid Office Click Here.
- Once your financial aid file is complete, a final financial aid award will be mailed to you. It indicates the types and amounts of financial aid for which the student is eligible.
