Help us match end of year stock/mutual fund gifts with donors

Giving - posted on 12/17/2010

The most common ways to give to Lakeland College are gifts of cash, securities, and stocks. But Lakeland sometimes receives shares of stock or mutual funds without a donor's name attached to it — making it difficult to match that generous gift with its contributor.

Generally, the broker or fund company will notify us that a named donor has, or will be initiating a gift of a specific number of shares of a stock or mutual fund, but that is not always the case. It makes our job easier, when we can easily match the gift received to a specific donor and send an acknowledgement letter to them for income tax purposes.

Please call Stuart Merritt, Director of Planned and Major gifts at 920.565.1383 or merrittsk@lakeland.edu and let us know that you are initiating a gift so that you can receive a proper acknowledgement from Lakeland College.

For more information, visit our Cash, Stocks & Securities page. Thank you for your support of Lakeland. We value your friendship.
