What is RSS?

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, gives websites the ability to distribute news, events, or other current information. A visitor to a website that has an RSS feed can choose to "subscribe" to the feed. Then their RSS reader program will automatically get any new news releases or other information from that website.

How do I use RSS?

If you see this image in or near your web browser's address bar, or embedded within a webpage, click on it to view or subscribe to an RSS feed.

  • For Firefox users, view this tutorial.
  • Internet Explorer 7 users can click on the RSS image () next to the address bar to view the feed, and follow the directions to subscribe to it.
  • Safari and Opera users can click on the blue "RSS" image in their address bar.
  • Other browsers, click on the links in the menu on the left side of the Lakeland College Website to view the feed in your browser. Also, look at this page or this page for a list of stand-alone programs to read RSS feeds.

What Feeds are Available From Lakeland College?

Lakeland College has a number of RSS feeds available to suit all your needs.
