28 Days

I've always like February because it's so darn short. 28 days, and the month is gone. Four quick weeks. It's especially exciting for me, here in Wisconsin, because February generally marks the eclipsing of our the winter season.
But February had (at least) one more laughing, pointing, Hah Hah Hah! moment this weekend when I woke up Saturday morning to find everything covered in snow. And it was the thick stuff, the kind that literally adheres to all solid and semi-solid objects. My little Ford Focus seemed to have doubled in girth on account of all the snow attached to it. In fact, after I'd shoveled the driveway on Sunday, after it snowed yet again, I brushed the snow from my car body. Should've done that before shoveling as I ended up having to shovel all over again. Really.
This morning I briefly met with a student and his father, who flew over yesterday from the UK. I'm sure they were doing their best to hide their mortified sensabilities after seeing all this snow, but you can't fool me. Well, fool me once, uh, shame on, eh...well, you get it. I'm in one of those moods today. :)
Anyway, aside from writing this blog today, I've been going through my students' application files and planning next month's high school visitation schedule. Yes, that is correct: back on the road.
Think happy, melting thoughts,
Ross
