Master of Arts in Theology
Program Curriculum and Requirements
Students are required to complete ten core courses for the degree, including successful defense of the Master's Project, and two electives. A cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA must be maintained throughout the program in order to be awarded the degree.
Program Curriculum
Students are required to take all of the following courses:
- TH 500 Understanding Christian Theology
- TH 510 Old Testament Interpretation: Law and Prophets
- TH 520 New Testament Interpretation: Life and Message of Jesus
- TH 530 History of Christian Thought 1
- TH 535 History of Christian Thought 2
- TH 540 Visions of the Realm of God
- TH 550 Seminar in Christian Ethics
- TH 560 Seminar in Christian Worship
- TH 570 Seminar in Biblical Hermeneutics
- TH 695 Master's Project
Students are required to take two of the following electives:
- TH 654 The Life and Theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
- TH 655 Homiletics
- TH 656 Seminar on Luke-Acts
- TH 657 Adventures in Scripture: Psalms, Mark and Revelation
- TH 680 Special Topics
- TH 685 Independent Study
