Master of Arts in Theology

Program Curriculum and Requirements

Students are required to complete ten core courses for the degree, including successful defense of the Master's Project, and two electives. A cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA must be maintained throughout the program in order to be awarded the degree.

Program Curriculum

Students are required to take all of the following courses:

  • TH 500 Understanding Christian Theology
  • TH 510 Old Testament Interpretation: Law and Prophets
  • TH 520 New Testament Interpretation: Life and Message of Jesus
  • TH 530 History of Christian Thought 1
  • TH 535 History of Christian Thought 2
  • TH 540 Visions of the Realm of God
  • TH 550 Seminar in Christian Ethics
  • TH 560 Seminar in Christian Worship
  • TH 570 Seminar in Biblical Hermeneutics
  • TH 695 Master's Project

Students are required to take two of the following electives:

  • TH 654 The Life and Theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
  • TH 655 Homiletics
  • TH 656 Seminar on Luke-Acts
  • TH 657 Adventures in Scripture: Psalms, Mark and Revelation
  • TH 680 Special Topics
  • TH 685 Independent Study
