Professional Certificate Programs
The Business and Leadership Development Institute (BLDI) has partnerships
with many well known professional development and certification organizations.
Current programs include the following:
The SHRM Learning System College Program
: This 12-week non-credit program prepares the participant
to sit for the Certificate in Human Resource Management exam (PHR/SPHR). The six
major components of the SHRM system are covered including Strategic Management,
Workforce Planning and Employment, Human Resource Development, Compensation
and Benefits, Employee and Labor Relations, and Occupational Health, Safety,
and Security.
This course is offered twice a year both online and as a traditional instructor-led class at different Lakeland College Kellett School Centers around the state. Deadline to register is usually in early September and early January (call for most recent deadline, 920.565.1477).

The SHRM Human Resource Management Fundamentals Certificate Program:
The 2-day non-credit basic fundamentals course provides an overview of the human resource function for supervisors, entry-level HR professionals, office managers and assistants with HR responsibilities. Course content covers the key areas and practices of HR Management: hiring, selection, employment laws, compensation, skill assessment, orientation and training, performance development and appraisals, coaching and disciplinary action.

Preparation for Practice as a CMA
Preparing for professional exams can be rigorous and frustrating.
Lakeland College and BLDI offer a CMA (Certified Management Accountant)
prep course designed to provide personal instruction and online technology
for maxiumum results and earn 6 graduate creditsat the same time.

The AFP Learning System: Treasury Course:
This Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) non-credit prep course is designed for
treasury and financial professionals who want to obtain their Certified
Treasury Professional (CTP) Certification. The course teaches the basic
principles and practices of corporate cash and treasury management. The
print components of the course content are divided into six modules and
21 chapters based on the CTP body of knowledge contained in the book,
Essentials of Treasury Management, 1st Edition. The web-based components
of the course include an e-glossary of key terms, flashcard exercises,
an online test bank of over questions and more than 45 application situations
similar to those on the CTP Exam.
The course is offered twice a year as a 36-contact hour or 18-contact
hour instructor-led class at different Lakeland College Kellett
School Centers around the state. The deadline to register is usually
