Ok, for those faithful readers of the Lakeland Blogs, I would like to apologize for my extended delay in updating my message to all of you! 

For those new to the Blogs, well, welcome and enjoy reading my fresh, up-to-date posting!

Really, it's been a whirlwind couple of months, getting students squared away for graduation and transitioning into the summer semester...  For those of you not yet graduating and contemplating summer classes, or still on the fence about pursuing your degree, just remember, there's no time like the present.  Stop on in, talk to an advisor and sign up for a summer class or two...  To quote a colleague of mine, "It's really that easy!"

Those of you attending the festivities this weekend, be ready for a good time.  If you're a graduate, congratulations!  You've put in so much time and effort, make this weekend a celebration of your achievements.  For those of you attending as guests and spectators, all I can say is Lakeland College hosts one of the most wonderful graduation ceremonies I have ever been a part of!  The campus becomes transformed by the energy and excitement and the graduating students are truly "center stage"!

You can tell I'm excited about the summer term and the graduation celebration...  But, that's not the only celebration headed my way!  My little one, my son, is turning 1 soon!  So, here I am, trying to figure out how much one has to do for a first birthday party...   And, of course, I don't want to let my little one down...  But, the first birthday is just all about the pictures, I suppose.  My son won't really remember any of it.  But, when he's graduating from College and ready to make the step into the "real world" that many of you are making this coming weekend, I will be able to pull out the photo album and think back to times like this and look forward to all of the opportunities in front of him as a College graduate.
