Beth Schill, who joined Lakeland's staff as Assistant Director of Alumni Relations this fall, has been promoted to Director of Alumni Relations. Her first day in this position will be March 1.

During her short time with Lakeland, Schill has had a big impact, most notably with the Alumni Phonathon. Schill and her team of student callers have already surpassed their fundraising goal for the year, and spring calling hasn't even started yet.

"I've enjoyed meeting and getting to know our alumni, and I know that's just beginning," Schill said. "We have some big events coming up in 2006, and I know our alumni are going to be excited with what we have planned for them."

Over the past several months, Lakeland has hosted a number of events both in the area and around the Midwest for alumni, and Schill said several more events are planned. The alumni office is also gearing up for an expanded, weekend long Homecoming celebration, Oct. 20-22. The weekend will include many of the old favorites, along with several new events to encourage alums to return to campus for the weekend.

Schill came to Lakeland after four years experience at St. Norbert College where she was Event Manager for the F.K. Bemis Conference Center. A 2001 graduate from St. Norbert, she majored in communications, media and theatre with a minor in leadership studies.
