LC enjoys Americas favorite pastime
Alumni Association - posted on 7/16/2007
"If you build it, they will come." That is something everyone has heard at least once. Well, the Lakeland College alumni office has been hard at work "building" events in the hope that you will "come!"
On June 24, over thirty
Lakeland alumni and friends gathered on the Dew Deck at Miller Park where they were able to enjoy one of the longest Brewer games of the season! Unfortunately the Brew Crew was unable to pull out a win, but they definitely gave our fans a spectacular performance.
In addition to the Lakeland fans, there were groups from other private colleges in WI. We had our name on the message board during the game, one person got the throw out the first pitch, and it was a bobble head day! Overall, those in attendance reported a wonderful day at the game. The weather was beautiful, and it was a great opportunity to bring everyone in the family out to the park. Some alumni brought parents, other brought young children. No matter who came along, fun was had by all.
If you are interested in having a great time like those at the Brewer game, you still can! There are two more baseball game events planned for the summer. July 28 will be an
Eau Claire Cavaliers game and August 16 is a
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game in Appleton, WI. For more information, or to register for these events please visit
www.lakeland.edu/alumnievents. These games promise to hold just as much excitement and fun as the Brewer game. After all, it is America's favorite pastime!
