Into the Wilderness We Go

Pack up the kids or the grandkids, it's time for sliding and splashing at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells. On May 9 and 10, join alumni and friends for a fun-filled weekend of water play, golf, or just plain relaxation. A family of four is only $109 per night but you must make your reservation by April 9 by calling 1-800-867-9453, mention Lakeland College and the group number: 718085.

On Saturday evening, we'll meet for dinner in the Wild Canyon Café where dinner is on your own, but fun is on us! More details will soon follow.

This sprawling Old West-themed resort extends deep into the woods and boasts four indoor water parks and a four-story playhouse. One of the newer water rides, Fantastic Voyage, is a "mega-thrill" family ride involving a raft that holds 2-5 people, a six-story climb, and plenty of plummeting, twisting, and spinning through total darkness! If that is not your cup of tea, how about the indoor-outdoor hot tubs? You can grab a cold beer at the snack bar, plop into the spa, and catch a baseball game on the overhead televisions. Is that decadence, or what?

In addition to all the water fun the Wilderness Resort will open a new golf course, Wild Rock, on May 1. For a mere $65, you can be among the first in the country to try out this fabulous new course. Greg D'Amato of Golf Beat writes: "When the course opens May 1, 2008, my guess is that golfers will instantly place it among their top 10 public facilities in the state. For this great weekend getaway, Lakeland College alumni get a special rate of $109 per night for a family of four; additional guests are welcome for only $15. For each night's reservation, $9 goes back to the College! You'll enjoy a room with two queen beds and receive unlimited access to the resort's four indoor water parks and the four-story playhouse.

Rooms are limited and are on a first come, first served basis. You can stay one or two nights, but reservations must be made by April 9, 2008. Please call 1-800-867-9453 to make your reservations and mention you are part of the Lakeland College room block in the main hotel. You may be asked to supply a reservation number. If so, it is 718085.
