Relay for Life

A dedicated Lakeland student group is gearing up for the second annual Relay for Life, a 12-hour fundraising event to support the finding of a cure for cancer. The event will be held starting at 6:00 p.m. on April 18 and will run through the night, ending at 6:00 a.m. the next morning. The event will begin with a survivor lap as the first lap of the evening.

Last year, 19 teams of Lakeland students, faculty, staff, and community members raised over $12,000. This year's event organizers, Jessica Hopfinger and Laura Palzkill, hope to top that amount and would like to raise $14,000. How about a team of alumni, or a team from your workplace? The maximum number on a team is 15 people. The cost to sign up as a team is $150 (or $100 if signed up by midnight February 20).
