Athletics - posted on 4/25/2006

The Lakeland College men's tennis team fell in the final match of the season to Concordia, 7-0, to finish second behind the Falcons in the Lake Michigan Conference standings.

"Concordia showed why they've been at the top of the LMC for a while," said head coach Ben Oestreich. "They were more consistent, more forceful, and dictated the action on most points."

Seniors Nick Dulmes and Lee Sparks fell, 8-5, in #2 doubles in what was the Muskies' closest match of the day.

The Muskies finish at 6-10 on the season and 2-1 in the LMC. They hadn't won a match since 2000 before this season.

Lakeland will compete for the LMC Championship on Friday at the Kohler Sports Core.
