The Lakeland Muskies (11-5 overall) snapped a two game losing steak with a 54-41 victory over Lake Michigan Conference opponent Maranatha on Monday night.
"We came out slow," said sophomore Jenna Boehm. "The zone is something that is tough for us and we need to keep working at it. We found out when the score was close that we needed to work harder. One of the things we need to improve on is coming out faster and playing strong right away."
Boehm led the Muskies with 10 points and five boards. Junior Danielle Duranceau also added in 10 points, four boards and four steals.
The bench scored 29 points for the Muskies tonight with Duranceau, sophomore Liz Ware and senior Nikki Boeckh playing key roles. The three combined for a nine for 17 night from the field.
"I was pleased with some of the inside production that Liz (Ware), Danielle Duranceau and also Nikki Boeckh brought today," said head coach April Arvan. "They were nine for 17 so I thought they did a very good job getting in there and hitting some shots. That was very important."
Lakeland, 7-1 in the LMC, will host Marian for an LMC match on Wednesday night at 7:00p.m.
