Athletics - posted on 1/25/2006
Jenna Boehm posted her third double-double of the season (15 points and 10 rebounds), but it was not enough as the Muskies fell to Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night, 56-45.
Lakeland would post a six point lead early in the first half, 17-11 with 9:21 remaining, when the Wisconsin Lutheran would go on a 14-3 run to close out the half, leading the Muskies at halftime 25-20.
In the second half, it was all Wisconsin Lutheran, as the Warriors would build a lead as large as 13 points with 14:35 left. The Muskies would cut the lead to four with just over six minutes remaining, but could get no closer.
Seniors Kristi Thill and Beth Porter also scored in double figures for the Muskies, scoring 11 and 10 respectively.
With the loss, the Muskies fall to 8-3 in the Lake Michigan Conference and 13-6 overall. The loss also drops the Muskies out of first place in the LMC. Lakeland is now tied for second place, a half game back of Concordia University.
The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, January 28 when they face Dominican University on the Lakeland Campus. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
