Muskies Cature Eighth Conference Title In 11 Years With Win Over Maranatha

Kristi Thill poured in 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Muskies captured their eighth regular season Lake Michigan Conference championship in the past 11 years with a 66-40 win over Maranatha on Monday night.
Sophomore Jenna Boehm also added 16 points for the Muskies, while senior Beth Porter tallied 14 points. The Muskies shot 56 percent for the game, including 62 percent from three-point range while holding the Crusaders to just 30 percent.
The Muskies jumped out to the early 3-0 lead off a Kristi Thill three-pointer and never looked back, leading by as many as 29 at several points in the second half. Colleen Goff led Maranatha with 16 points.
The win also ensures the Muskies home-court advantage throughout the Lake Michigan Conference tournament.
The Muskies, 18-7 and 13-3 LMC, will play host to the winner of the #8 Alverno vs. #9 Maranatha play-in game. The game is scheduled for 7pm on Friday, February 17 at the Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
