Baseball Gets First Win Of Season Over Millikin

The Lakeland baseball team picked up their first win of the season Monday, defeating Millikin University 11-9 in Decatur, Ill.
Senior Nick Steudel picked up the win for the Muskies, pitching seven solid innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits with three strike outs
"Stuedel pitched great," said Coach Govek. "This was his first start since little league and he looked really good."
Brent Nelson picked up the save for the Muskies, giving up two runs in two innings of work with four strikeouts.
Offensively for the Muskies, senior Matt Andrews went two for five with two home runs and five RBI's. Freshman Shawn Loch went three for four with two runs and two RBI's.
"Matt's (Andrews) two home runs were key," said coach Govek. "He hit the ball really well. Shawn's (Loch) hitting also helped our offense."
The Muskies (1-2) will next face Hannible La Grange College in Hannibal, Mo. on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
