Muskies Snap Losing Streak With Two Wins Over Finlandia

The Lakeland baseball team snapped a three-game skid with two wins over Finlandia University on Wednesday, 10-2 and 8-4.
Junior Mitch Heinemeyer had a bases loaded double and scored two runs to lead Lakeland to the victory in the opener. He also added a lead off, first pitch home run in the second game.
Freshman Tony DeMuth scattered 11 hits in the first game, allowing only two runs over six innings to grab the victory. Sophomore Nate Brusewitz made an impressive appearance in relief, striking out the side with the bases loaded in the seventh.
Senior Matt Andrews went 4-for-4 in the second game with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Dan Rhodes picked up his first win of the season, pitching a perfect fifth inning in relief.
The Muskies will host Dominican on Friday as they resume Lake Michigan Conference play. Game time is schedule for 3 p.m.
