Softball Splits with Concordia

The Lakeland softball team split a doubleheader against Lake Michigan Conference opponent Concordia, Wis., losing the first game, 9-1, and winning the second, 7-5.
Lakeland's lone run in the opener came from freshman Jesse Van Camp off an RBI triple from sophomore Elisa Waltz in the top of the third inning.
The second game saw more offense from Muskies as they collected 10 hits and held Concordia to only five. Waltz, who is now on an 11-game hitting streak, drove in three runs.
Freshman Elena Schatz also contributed going 2 for 2 and getting walked once.
Sophomore pitcher Rachael Griesbach picked up her fourth win of the season, pitching a perfect final inning.
The Muskies (8-14, 3-3 LMC) next play on Thursday, April 13, at home against Aurora University. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
