The Lakeland men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season Saturday night with a 67-52 victory over Martin Luther in the consolation game of the Bethel Tip-Off Tournament.
Martin Luther shot 62 percent in the first half but Lakeland's defense limited them to 30 percent shooting in the second half. The Muskies also won the rebound battle, 36-29, including 18 offensive rebounds.
Senior Nick Zeck led Lakeland with 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting and 9 rebounds. Junior Germayne James and freshman Kris Saiberlich both scored 11 for the Muskies. Senior Ryan Hiir added 9.
Lakeland, now 1-1 on the season, hosts defending national champion UW-Stevens Point in its home opener Friday at 7 p.m.
