The Lakeland men’s basketball team, after struggling the last few games shooting the ball, opened the Eau Claire Holiday Tournament on fire as they torched St. Olaf, 95-80, on Wednesday night.
Kris Saiberlich scored all 17 of his points in the first half and helped the Muskies score 59 points in the first half, which broke a tournament record for most points in one half. The previous record in the 36-year old tournament was 58.
Ryan Hiir also added 16 points, and Aaron Regal came off the bench to add 12 points for Lakeland.
Lakeland never trailed in the game and led by as many as 25 in the second half.
The Muskies will play either Luther College or the host Eau Claire Blugolds in the championship game tomorrow at 8:00 p.m.
