Lakeland Wrestlers Top Lawrence

The Lakeland Muskies improved to 9-8 with a 25-13 win over Lawrence University on Friday night in Appleton. Six Lakeland wrestlers took home wins on the evening.

Sophomore David Copp put the Muskies on the board with an 11-2 win over the Viking's James Williamson in 125 division action.

In the 133 division, freshman James Jinning picked up his second career win with a 9-8 win over Tony Kazik.

Sophomores Kory Theil (141) and Jonas Flok (157) also picked up victories for the Muskies. Theil pinned Matt Meiselman in just 4:19, while Flok defeated Ryan Dummann 13-7.

Junior Paul Hartt picked up his 19th win of the season with a 5-3 win over the Viking's Joe Austin in the 184 division.

In the heavyweight weight class, Lakeland senior Mark Vanden Hoogan recorded a pin over Kenny Hamm in just 1:28.

The Muskies will be on the road again next weekend at the Wheaton Invite on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, January 27 in Wheaton, Ill.
