In the second game, Roberts pitched another four innings successfully to improve to 7-3 on the season, allowing three hits, while fellow freshman Cassie Felton threw two innings in relief.
Although the Cougars took the lead with a run scored in the first inning, the Muskies shut them out for the remainder of the game and pulled ahead in the second inning with two runs scored by freshman second baseman KC Blahnik and Schuettpelz. Then Lakeland really got the bats swinging with a pair of solo home runs by Coenen and Schuettpelz in the third and fourth innings, respectively, to put their team up, 4-1. The Muskies went on to break the game open in the sixth inning with six runs off of five hits to seal the win.
