The Lakeland men's soccer team (1-7) fell to Milwaukee School of Engineering, 4-3, in a non-conference road game on Wednesday night.
Despite facing an early deficit after the Raiders found the back of the Muskies' net three times within the first 20 minutes of play, the squad refused to give in without a fight.
Sophomore forward Ted Cormier got the squad on the board in the 21st minute on an assist by Peter Czajka. The two would switch roles in the second half, as Czajka scored the last goal of the game on an assist from Cormier.
Junior Zach Buchman made his return to the field, as he has been sidelined with an injury, and quickly made his presence known as he knocked in a penalty kick to complete an active first half of offense with a score of 3-2 in favor of MSOE.
Junior goalkeeper Ryan Condon recorded eight saves on the game as he was constantly battered by an active Raider offense that launched 15 first half shots, adding five more before the end of the game.
Lakeland now faces the bulk of their Northern Athletics Conference schedule, starting with Marian College on Saturday, Sept. 30. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Muskie Field.
