Offense was abound in the Lakeland baseball team's 19-3 pummeling of Maranatha Baptist on Friday afternoon.

Brian Swanson went 2-3 in the game with a game-high four RBI, while Brett Nelson batted 5-5 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Lakeland jumped on Crusader starter Eric Stanley early, scoring 11 runs on 12 hits in the first three innings.

Brett Anschutz started the game for Lakeland, allowing only two runs, one of them earned, on three hits in three innings of work. He also struck out five.

Jared Neuman (1-0) pitched two innings of one-hit ball to grab the win for Lakeland.

Zach Schmitz hit his first home run of his career in the bottom of the sixth after replacing Swanson at first in the top of the inning.

The win improved Lakeland's record to 5-18-1 overall and 2-5 in conference. These two teams face each other tomorrow for a doubleheader in Watertown at noon.
