Muskies Take Down Falcons, 96-81

The Lakeland Muskies men's basketball team remained undefeated in conference play as they defeated Northern Athletics Conference rival Concordia, Wis., 96-81, in Mequon on Saturday.
 
The Muskies (2-3, 2-0 NAC) took the early lead in the contest, going up by as many as 12 points in the first quarter. The Lakeland squad went into the locker room with a 47-43 advantage. The Muskies continued to dominate the Falcons (2-3, 0-2 NAC) in the second half leading by as many as 18 points in the final minutes of the game.
 
"Overall we did well," said Lakeland head coach Kyle Brumett. "We had five guys get in the double-digits and make some positive plays to put the contest away."
 
Senior Kris Saiberlich paced the Muskies with 22 points, while senior Aaron Regal chipped in 21 points and five assists. Senior Danny Ehnert added 15 points as well as led the Muskies in rebounds with eight. Freshman Chris Quinn also hit the double-digit mark with 12 points, while freshman Anthony Cobb added 10.  In addition, junior Peter Worth led the Muskies with six assists.
 
The Muskies were stellar from the free throw line shooting 72 percent for the game and 55 percent from the field.
 
The Muskies will be in action again on Tuesday, Dec. 4, as they take on NAC foe Marian College in Fond du Lac. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
