The Lakeland College women's tennis team played against Mount Mary, and the team's hard work and endurance paid off with a 7-2 victory.
In the singles competition, Rae Schreiber defeated Mount Mary's Jill Walsh in the No. 2 match with scores of 6-1, 6-4. Mariah Tess won her No. 4 singles match against Danielle Waumbui with scores of 6-0 in both rounds. Deondrea Warren defeated Ale Briones in the No. 3 match (2-6, 6-3, 6-3), and Erika Brown won the No. 6 match by a forfeit from Mount Mary. Sakie Matsubara fell to competitor Brittany Kaurich in her No. 1 match with scores of 6-2, 7-5, and 7-6.
In the doubles competition, Rae Schreiber and Sakie Matsubara were up against Jill Walsh and Brittany Kaurich in the No. 1 match and the round was extremely close, but Schreiber and Matsubara were in the end able to win over Mount Mary with a score of 9-8. Mariah Tess and Deondrea Warren played Ale Briones and Danielle Waumbui in their No. 2 match and easily won the round 8-1. Jacquelyn Love and Erika Brown won the No. 3 match by means of a forfeit from Mount Mary.
