Lakeland Defeated by Dominican

The Lakeland College women's tennis team was defeated by Dominican with a result of 9-0.

In the singles competition, Sakie Matsubara had a close No. 1 match against Dominican's Julia Filipski, though lost with scores of 6-2, 7-5.  Mariah Tess fell to Eileen Shanahan of Dominican in the No. 2 match with scores of 6-1, 6-0.  In the No. 3 match Bozana Durman of Dominican beat Erika Brown with scores of 6-0 in both rounds.  In the No. 4 match, Kayla Moffitt lost to Dominican's Gina Cesario with scores of 6-0 in both rounds.  Mary Dennewitz lost her No. 5 match against Molly Nolan of Dominican with scores of 6-0, 6-2.  In the No. 6 match, Dominican's Erika Cororona won by means of a default.

In the doubles competition, Sakie Matsubara and Mariah Tess fell to Dominican's Eileen Shanahan in the No. 1 match with a score of 8-0.  In the No. 2 match, Dominican's Molly Nolan and Julia Filipski won against Kayla Moffitt and Mary Dennewitz with a score of 8-0.  In the No. 3 match, Ivana Debro and Gina Cesario won by default.
