Lakeland Falls to Edgewood

The Lakeland College women's tennis team played against Edgewood College and unfortunately lost with a result of 9-0.

In the singles competition, Sakie Matsubara was defeated in the No. 1 match by Edgewood's Kelsey Steinhorst with scores of 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 2 match, Megan Sura of Edgewood won against Mariah Tess with a score of 6-0 in both rounds. Erika Brown lost her No. 3 match against Edgewood's Rachel Mixtacki with a score of 6-0 in both rounds. In the No. 4 match, Liliana Yacuta of Edgewood defeated Jacquelyn Love with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Lauryn Hibbard lost her No. 5 match against Edgewood's Katie Schneider by default. In the No. 6 match, Bridget Prendergast of Edgewood won by default.

In the doubles competition, Mariah Tess and Sakie Matsubara lost their No. 1 match against Edgewood's Katie Brondyke and Katie Schneider with a score of 8-2. Brittany Storhoff and Leslie Reed of Edgewood won the No. 2 match against Jacquelyn Love and Erika Brown. In the No. 3 match, Edgewood's Rachel Mixtacki and Liliana Yacuta won against Lauryn Hibbard, who didn't have a partner, by default.

The Muskies will cap off their season this weekend with the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament in Madison, Wis.
