Athletics - posted on 10/16/2004

The Muskies were on the road today for a Lake Michigan Conference match up today at Maranatha Baptist in Watertown.  The Muskies would first face off against the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College.  The Muskies would come out flat against second place WLC, and would drop their first match 30-19.

The second game held much of the same for the Muskies, as an excited Warrior squad turned on the burners and again defeated the Muskies by a score of 30-27.

The Muskies would battle in the third game, but would give up a six point lead and could not serve match point.  The Muskies would end up falling in that game as well, 32-30.

Leading the way for the Muskies in their match was Heather Heberlein who tallied 14 kills and three digs.  Lana Neuman added 34 assists, 16 digs and one ace.

"Give WLC credit," said Coach Schreiber, "they (WLC) played a perfect offensive game and we went through stretches without any."

The Muskies would go on to face Edgewood in the second game of the day.
