Muskies move to 3-0 in conference with win over MBBC

The Lakeland women's volleyball team remained undefeated in Northern Athletics Conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Maranatha Baptist Bible College Tuesday night in Watertown.
After the Muskies the first two sets 25-17 and 25-18, Maranatha (2-1 NAC, 9-7 overall) closed the gap in the third, but it wasn't enough as Lakeland took the final set 25-22.

The Muskies (3-0 NAC, 7-4 overall) also defeated the Crusaders 3-0 back on Sept. 5 at the Sugarloaf Classic in Winona, Minn.
Junior middle hitter Kim Linger (Eldorado) led the way for Lakeland with 17 kills, good for a team-leading .333 hitting percentage. Senior setter Jessica Sparling (Addison, Ill.) posted 41 assists as well as six kills.
Defensively, junior libero Tonia Strebelinski (Berlin) had 18 digs to lead the Muskies in the back.
The Muskies will head to Wheaton, Ill., for the two-day Wheaton Invitational this Saturday and Sunday. Lakeland will play Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 3:30 p.m., followed by a match with Wheaton at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
