Muskies pass first road test of weekend in 3-0 win at Aurora

The Lakeland women's volleyball team remained undefeated in the Northern Athletics Conference with a 3-0 sweep over Aurora University (4-17 overall, 3-5 NAC) on Friday night in Aurora, Ill.
After taking the first set 25-19, the Muskies (14-5, 7-0) quickly took the final two 25-13 and 25-16.
"Aurora is a tough place to play, the gym can get very loud," Lakeland head coach Chad Schreiber said. "We started off a little slow, but once we got our bearings, we were able to take control of the match."
Outside hitters Andrea Mueller (Manitowoc) and Brittanie Paulus (Belgium) were instrumental in the victory. Mueller, a sophomore, tallied eight kills and 21 digs, and Paulus, a junior, posted 10 kills and 20 digs.
Senior setter Jessica Sparling (Addison, Ill.) had 35 assists for the Muskies.
Lakeland returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
