Athletics - posted on 4/4/2009
Lakeland junior Lee Chepil tossed a perfect game Saturday in the Muskies' 18-0 victory in seven innings over Maranatha Baptist in the first half of a Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader in Watertown.
Chepil, a Ladysmith native, retired all 21 hitters he faced, throwing what is believed to be the school's first-ever perfect game. He also picked up his second win of the season.
The game was shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
