The Lakeland College women's soccer team dominated Saturday on senior days, knocking off Rockford College, 7-1.
Freshman midfielder Liz Pritzl (Cedar Grove, Wis.) got the scoring started 45 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal. It was all Muskies on the wet and cold afternoon as junior midfielder Dana Schmidt scored three goals on four shots including a header off a Kristina Borts (Milwaukee, Wis.) corner kick. Borts, a junior midfielder, added a goal to go with her four assists.
Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Whitney England (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) each had a goal. Rodgers also had an assist.
"This was an important win for us, as all conference games are," said head coach Tony Pierce, whose team improves to 3-9, 2-3 in Northern Athletics Conference play. "Kristina Borts did a great job today. She made great decisions and spread the ball around well. I'm proud of the girls for keeping up the focus and energy and not having a letdown in the second half."
Lakeland returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 5, as they travel to Edgewood College. Start time is 7 p.m.
