After losing in five sets Friday night, the Lakeland College volleyball team dropped another hard-fought Northern Athletics Conference match in five sets, this one to Rockford College, 3-2 (25-17, 21-25, 23-25, 26-24, 15-10).
The Muskies (3-13, 1-4) seemed to find a rhythm in the second and third sets, but couldn't maintain their energy and focus to close out the win.
With junior middle Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) unavailable to play, the Muskies turned to freshman outside Katie Freitag (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) to carry the offense. Freitag led the Muskies with 19 kills. Freshman middle Emily Cecka (Plymouth, Wis.) started all five sets in place of Davis and led the team with five blocks. Kristine Raeder (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) led the Muskies with 39 assists and 19 digs.
Lakeland returns home to host Concordia, Wis., on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m.
