Muskies win second straight

On Friday night, the Lakeland women's volleyball team won its second straight match, its first such streak this season defeating Aurora University 3-1 (16-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-13).
The Muskies were led by freshmen outside Katie Freitag and middle Amanda Dillman. Freitag led the team with 11 kills and three service aces, and was second with 11 digs. Dillman was second on the team with 10 kills. Senior setter Kristine Raeder had 25 of Lakelands 41 assists. Freshman right side Anna Faust led the Muskies with 15 digs while adding eight kills.
Lakeland improves to 4-7 in the Northern Athletics Conference, 7-19 overall. The Muskies conclude conference play Saturday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Lisle, Ill. to face the Eagles of Benedictine University at 12 p.m.
